101484936Are you happy with your life? Are your career, relationships, family life, and health where you want them to be? Or are you at least on the path to reach your desired destination? Even with the troubles and issues that you’re dealing with on a personal or professional level, you can still find joy and live a purposeful life. All you’ve got to do is get on the Energy Bus!

In Jon Gordon’s book, The Energy Bus, he reveals The 10 Rules for the Ride of Your Life – and they all revolve around positive energy. Now, before you click to another story because you’re not into that feel-good, lovey-dovey, HR, mystical energy stuff, realize that this positive energy isn’t about all that. It’s about infusing your life with a positive attitude, optimism, and passion in order to push through and overcome different situations and circumstances.

Still think that positive energy doesn’t matter to you or your business? Think again! Jon cites a Gallup Poll that revealed the “22 million negative workers in the United States costing around $300 billion in productivity each year.” And, as Daniel Goleman showed in his book, Emotional Intelligence, “a positive company with a positive corporate culture will outperform their negative counterparts every time.So it appears that a positive culture is also good for revenue and the bottom line.”

With all the negative news about the economy, politics, and everything else under the sun, it’s easy for leaders and their teams to get dragged down and feel helpless to change their situation. But, The Energy Bus serves as a great reminder that it’s within every person’s power to change their attitude and impact their situation. And that’s a great message to share with your team as you prepare to close out 2011 and start a new year.
