The summer months are finally upon us and now it’s time to focus on what really matters this time of the year – ice cream, barbecues, and swimming pools. But before you rush out to buy that new swimsuit or start slathering on the sunscreen, check out these five things to do in the month of June.

National Email Week: 6/11 – 6/15
The second week in June is set aside to observe National Email Week. The typical business email user sends and receives about 110 messages daily – and if you‘re like many people, simply maintaining your inbox is a full-time job in and of itself. So, take some time this week to regain control of your email account – both business and personal.

Father’s Day: 6/17
Celebrated the third Sunday in June, Father’s Day is set aside to celebrate fatherhood and paternal bonds. Take some time this month to honor the fathers in your company and their hard work to provide for their families. You could even go as far as to plan a company-wide picnic to not only kick off the summer, but also to celebrate the importance of family.

First Day of Summer: 6/20
Summer officially begins on June 20, and workers everywhere are anxious to get out and enjoy it. Your employees are likely already planning a summer vacation and you’re probably about to be inundated with PTO requests. Take some time to be proactive and encourage your employees to discuss their plans so you can not only ensure everyone gets their break, but also so you can ensure the business stays productive.

Camera Day: 6/29
Say cheese! June 29 is National Camera Day. If a picture is worth a thousand words, what could you say with a professional photo of your entire team? Whether it’s a goofy snapshot to hang around the office, photos of a company outing, or a corporate pic to help your clients put a face with a name, images can help build relationships and give insight into the lives and personalities of the people you interact with each day.

Candy Month
Much to the chagrin of dentists everywhere, June is National Candy Month, which means it’s time to celebrate the wonderful world of sugary confections and openly embrace that pesky sweet tooth. As a special treat, bring in an assortment of your employees’ favorite candies or have a different employee bring in a different sweet each day all month long. Aside from the boost in morale, the sugar rush may put a little extra pep in your employees’ steps and give productivity a lift.
