Get Organized Week (Oct. 1-5)
In any busy business environment, stuff has a habit of piling up. From job files to memos to fast food wrappers, when the going gets tough, the tough tend to get messy. Set aside some time for a thorough fall cleaning. Not only will it help you stay on track and organized in your current workload, but it will help clear the way for a strong finish in 2012 and great start to 2013.

World Smile Day (Oct. 5)
Harvey Ball, creator of the iconic yellow smiley face we’re all familiar with, established World Smile Day to devote one day each year to smiles and kind acts throughout the world. Celebrate the day in your office by acknowledging your employees hard work or taking some time to get to know individual employees better. Recognition and taking an active interest in your employees’ lives are two of the best ways to build a more engaged workforce.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month
From fund raisers to 5K’s, there are a wide variety of opportunities to get involved with Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It’s highly likely that more than a few of your employees have been affect by breast cancer in one way or another, so look into sponsoring an awareness event or simply encourage your workers to get involved in the community for this important cause.

Halloween (Oct. 31)
What better time to have a little fun in your office than Halloween. From costume contests to eating piles of sugary sweets, take a break and enjoy some quality time with your employees. You could even invite your employees’ spouses to join the party or set up an opportunity for their children to go trick or treating throughout the office.

Start Planning for 2013
It’s never too early to start planning for the new year – in fact, it’s probably a good idea to start thinking about your goals for the coming year.
