Carrying the Weight of a Busy Week

Over the past week, you may have spent countless hours in meetings, dealing with spur of the moment projects from clients, or mediating conflict within your office. Friday is a great day to look back on all that you’ve done and determine what went well, what went wrong, and what you can do better to prepare for next week.

It’s also the perfect time to recharge your batteries – and sometimes a great quote does the trick. Legendary former football coach Lou Holtz once said:

“It’s not the load that breaks you down, it’s the way you carry it.”

As a leader, you may be burned out at this point of the week. The stress of a heavy workload may seem unbearable. But your team is looking to you for inspiration. It’s how you carry yourself when times are tough that encourages a culture of character.

What are some ways you get motivated to finish strong on Friday? Let us know in the comment section below.
