Question of the Month: If Schools Remain Closed, Do You Anticipate Childcare Issues for Employees?

During the past few months, some business professionals were forced to adapt to stay-at-home orders, as well as  how business is conducted. Unfortunately, school and daycare closures made the adaptation that much more difficult. Working parents have had to manage their work/life balance in different ways than before. While some local governments are hopeful that schools will reopen in the fall, others aren’t so sure. If this uncertainty becomes reality, companies may see an influx of issues in the near future.

So we want to know, if schools do not fully reopen in the fall due to COVID-19, do you anticipate your employees will encounter childcare issues? Let us know by participating in our monthly poll!

We have parents bring their children in as long as they can mind them and provide things for them to do. Children are off-limits to any areas where hazards may exist and parents must abide by that standard. Failing our standard on children then they will have to locate child care or other arrangements.
We have had that standard in place for 30 years.

yes, also if they extend the $600 unemployment benefit from the CARES act that will hurt as well.

We anticipated childcare and eldercare issues prior to re-opening the office and made allowances for these issues in our return to premises policy.

We are allowing for anyone with any concerns or issues related to their health, the health of others in their home, or care issues to remain working remotely throughout the pandemic.
