The Results Are In: What Are You Most Optimistic About for 2022?

As 2021 comes to a close, it’s time to look forward to what the new year holds for businesses. Since March 2020, the way we create goals and set expectations for the future may have changed; however, 2022 is bound to bring welcomed changed and growth.

In November, we asked our readers what they are most and least optimistic about for the upcoming year, and the results point toward a pretty bright new year!

With 24% of the votes, the number one thing people were most optimistic about was that though “the COVID-19 pandemic may not completely end, it will become less of a factor for businesses.” Coming in second with 19% of the votes, respondents believe “Inflation of prices for goods and services will slow.” The third most votes (14%) believe the “economy overall will grow.”

Rounding out the results to the question “what are you MOST optimistic about for 2022? (Pick up to 3)” are as follows:

  • Recruiting and filling open positions will become easier – 13%
  • Remote work will become the standard for your industry/job – 10%
  • Your business will see exponential growth – 8%
  • Your business volume will return to pre-COVID levels – 7%
  • The COVID-19 pandemic will finally end – 6%

When answering the question “what are you LEAST optimistic about for 2022?,” 22% of respondents say they don’t believe the COVID-19 pandemic will end, while 17% don’t think inflation will slow. With 16% of votes, respondents chose “recruiting and filling open positions will become easier” as least optimistic.

The rest of the top answers include:

  • The economy overall will grow – 11%
  • Remote work will become the standard for your industry/job – 10%
  • Your business will see exponential growth – 10%
  • Your business volume will return to pre-COVID levels – 9%
  • The COVID-19 pandemic may not completely end, but it will become less of a factor for businesses – 5%
