Millions of workers spend their days diligently working at a desk in front of a computer screen, often giving little thought to how it may affect their bodies. In fact, a survey commissioned by Ergotron, a manufacturer of office furniture and mobility products, found that we sit an average of 13 hours a day and are asleep for another eight. That adds up to 21 hours a day of minimal to no activity. From increased levels of obesity to skeletal and muscular conditions, the health implications of a predominantly sedentary lifestyle are staggering.
