What’s the Best Excuse for Being Late You’ve Ever Heard From an Employee?

According to recent CareerBuilder survey, traffic is the most common cause of employee tardiness, followed by other run-of-the-mill excuses like bad weather or dropping the kids off at daycare. The survey, which was conducted among more than 2,600 hiring managers and 3,900 workers nationwide, also asked participants to share the most memorable excuses for being tardy they’ve ever heard.     She was late because when she went out to get in her car a dog licked her and because there was rabies suspected in the neighborhood she went back in to shower again before coming to work.

    He couldn’t show up because he had to be moral support for his wife, whose dog was sick. later found out it wasn’t her dog, it was her mom’s.
